Make the most of the space you already have
An unfinished basement is often the largest unused space in a Minnesota home. Finishing it can add a family room, a place for the kids to play, a home office or workout area, and storage that actually keeps things organized — without the cost of building an addition.
Start with a dry, solid basement
Before any framing goes up, make sure the space stays dry. Damp walls, musty smells, white chalky residue on the concrete, or water after heavy rain should be addressed first. We'll take a look during the estimate and talk through anything that should be handled before finishing begins.
Framing, drywall, and finish work
Basement finishing is carpentry-heavy work: framing walls, building around ducts and beams, hanging and finishing drywall, installing doors and trim, and laying flooring. We bring the same care for square, straight walls and clean trim that goes into every deck we build. Built-in storage and shelving can be planned in from the start.
Planning your finished basement
Decide how you'll use the space before the walls go up — where the TV goes, where storage makes sense, and whether you'd like a bedroom. A basement bedroom needs an egress window under Minnesota code, so that's an important early decision. We'll help you work through the layout and put it all into a clear, written estimate.
